Canadian Chess Challenge, 2009 - Final Report

This year's National Chess Challenge championship took place in Toronto at the downtown campus of the University of Toronto. Most of the team stayed in Whetmore Hall, only about a five minute walk North of Toronto's famous China Town. Although it was a cool Victoria Day weekend in Toronto, the chess inside Whetmore Hall warmed everyone up.

Provincial Chess Challenge Championship: Report & Results

On Saturday, April 4th, 53 Saskatchewan chess players from all around the province descended upon Jack MacKenzie School in Regina for the Provincial Chess Challenge Championship tournament. It was a long day for some, as 11 playoff games were needed, with the gym finally empty at about 5:00 p.m. As this year's T.D., I had added responsibilities over past years, and unfortunately I hardly had a chance to take any pictures. I will post the 4 I managed to capture in the near future.

Provincial Chess Challenge! - Shoes!!

To the 55 players who are registered for this Saturday's Provincial Chess Challenge championship, please remember to bring with you to Jack MacKenzie school, a spare pair of shoes, so that you can change out of your street shoes and wear indoor shoes in the gym. We do not want to get the gym dirty!!
See everyone on Saturday, have fun, and good chess!!
